We took a walk along Cook Trail which took us through an old growth forest that was open to hunting. We traveled up along a small creek. First there were red maple, red oak, and some white pines, the ground was grassy.
The first fence we saw was pretty shady but inside we saw the following. According to the sign the fence is about 6 years old.
Hemlocks became more common and the forest floor was pretty darn bare as expected. Turned a corner and came to a second fence near some blow-downs. Here the outside remained bare, but inside all kinds of stuff was growing.
